John McComb
Senior Pastor
John’s teaching focuses on a person’s relationship with God and how the Bible can be applied to daily decisions and challenges. John holds a Bachelor of Science from Texas State University and a Master of Arts in Theology from Fuller Theological Seminary in Pasadena, California.
John has been in full time ministry since 1992. He is the founding pastor of San Marcos Community Church, which held it’s first public meeting in September of 2001. He has spent extensive time in short term Christian missions in Southeast Asia and Central America. John and Susan have three children.

Chris Ball
Associate Pastor
Chris holds a Bachelor of Arts with a Major in Communication Studies from Texas State University. He received a Master of Arts degree in Religion through Liberty University in 2010. Chris has served as the Associate Pastor at SMCC since 2005. He is also the Christian Education Pastor and worship leader. Chris and Natalie have two children.

Jon Zmikly
Associate Minister
Jon Zmikly moved to San Marcos from Michigan in 2007 as a graduate student in Media Studies at Texas State University. He is currently the youth leader for S.H.O.C.K., webmaster, and assists with administrative, maintenance, and preaching duties. He also works part-time at Texas State as a web design adjunct lecturer and webmaster for the School of Journalism and Mass Communication.

Connie Nicholson
Bookkeeper / Accountant
Connie and her husband Jerry have been involved with SMCC since its beginning. They moved to the San Marcos area in 2001. She is retired from The University of Texas at Austin and spends her time volunteering for the church, with Special Olympics, and mentoring at-risk teens.
Debbie Jenkins
Preschool Director
Debbie Jenkins joined SMCC children’s ministry team as our Preschool Director in the fall of 2010, after retiring from working in private Christian education. She enjoys having the opportunity to work with children and watch them grow in God’s Word. When she is not at SMCC, she volunteers as a Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) for children that have been removed from their homes by CPS.
