John & Susan McComb

Senior Pastor

John’s teaching focuses on a person’s relationship with God and how the Bible can be applied to daily decisions and challenges. John holds a Bachelor of Science from Texas State University, a Master of Arts in Theology, and a Doctor of Ministry from Fuller Theological Seminary in Pasadena, California.

 

John has been in full time ministry since 1992. He is the founding pastor of San Marcos Community Church, which held its first public meeting in September of 2001. He has spent extensive time in short term Christian missions in Southeast Asia and Central America. John and Susan have three grown children.

Jon Zmikly

Associate Pastor

Jon serves as one of SMCC’s associate pastors. He joined the SMCC staff in 2009 after receiving his master’s degree in media studies at Texas State University. Jon also works with church multimedia and website, as well as preaching duties and other pastoral work.

 

He also works in the School of Journalism and Mass Communication at Texas State as a professor of instruction in the Digital Media Innovation program.

Kyle Dean

Associate / Youth Pastor

Kyle serves as an Associate Pastor with SMCC. He leads SMCC’s Youth and Young Adult ministries, as well as helps to coordinate church operations and building needs. He joined our staff full-time in 2026, as he served in the Higher Education / Fitness space for 13 years. He holds a Master’s Degree from Texas State University and a Bachelor’s Degree from Texas A&M University. He is currently in his degree program to earn a Master’s of Divinity from Baylor Truett Seminary – San Antonio. Kyle lives in San Marcos with his wife Meghan and their two children.

Ariana Leake

Worship Director

Ariana is the worship director for SMCC. She has a bachelor’s degree from Texas State University and lives in Buda with her husband Micah and their three children.

Alex Dean

Children's Pastor

Alex Dean joined SMCC in 2008 and have served in our church for many years. They both hold bachelor’s degrees from Texas State University and live in Kingsbury with their four children.

Tiffany Blackstone

Church Administrator

Tiffany helps out with day-to-day administration and office needs. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting from Texas State University and lives in San Marcos with her husband Russell and four children.
